Hello and welcome!
About me…
I’m Jordan, maker of the earrings. Beading has been a hobby of mine for years and this is the beginning of me turning passion into business. In the winters, I ski patrol in Montana and in the summers I river guide on the Salmon River in Idaho.
My earring designs and the colors I love to use are inspired by the landscapes that surround me. In the winter, I’m surrounded by shades of snowy mountains, purples, blues, whites and grays, and in the summer I find myself immersed in a green kaleidoscope. I hope to capture the beauty of these places with my designs. Almost every pair I make is a one of kind, I will make similar designs in other colors.
About the beads…
All earrings are handmade using a needle and thread. I use Delica seed beads size 11/0. They are so very tiny! And so very fun. Though the beads are tiny, they are durable and can withstand being jumbled around in a drybag, mountain bike rides, days on the river or anything your day might throw at you. I primarily use brick stitch in my earrings, a stitch that has a long history and was utilized and perfected by Indigenous Americans. I use what I like to call “Adventure Backs” that are full clasps so they can go on adventures with you and you don’t have to worry about them falling off.
